EMICO was founded in 1968. Jack Beard who started his career with Allyson Labs in 1962 worked as part of a team to create the first bilateral/two channel solid state clinical and research audiometer. From there Jack opened the first direct sales and service office for Tracor inc. in California (a nation wide Texas based company manufacturing audiometric equipment).
In 1968 Jack and Tracor parted. Tracor went on to become Tremetrics and Jack Beard in turn created EMICO. Until the early 1990's EMICO primarily focused on the Hearing Health Care Community including; Audiologists, ENT Doctors, Hearing Aid Dispensters, Pediatricians, Family Practitioners School Districts and Occupational Medicine. This included sales and service of audimeters, tympanometers, ABR's, ENGs, soundrooms, and spirometers. In the early 1990's EMICO expanded and diversified services. This service expansion encompassed calibrations and repairs of everything from diagnostic and screening Instruments to infant and adult scales.
Since the calibration and repair expansion EMICO has continued to diversify a long standing product line with the ultimate goal to compliment all of the instruments that we calibrate and repair. In addition EMICO has taken one more step into offering complete services by annually composing Hands-On Workshops and Courses. The focus on education offers our customer one more dynamic, ensuring all testing is done accurately and efficiently.
Today our product line continues to grow as well as our services and educational channels. We are confident that this continued growth will allow us to remain THE FULL SERVICE AND SUPPORT COMPANY for the Health Care Industry.
